8 Weeks of Earnings With an Uber Fair Car Rental

Do you think you can make $30 an hour net with your Fair Car Rental vehicle? Well, in this video I’m going to present the results of my eight week test in which I attempted to accomplish that. And stick around at the end of the video because I’m going to share with you a spreadsheet which breaks it out week by week.

This is Jay Cradeur, with The Rideshare Guy. You may notice I’m not in my usual car. I’m recording this from the beautiful Island of Santorini, Greece, and at the end of the video, I’ll show you a little footage of this beautiful Island.

How much can you earn with an Uber Fair rental?

One of the key components is the bonuses. So, now by comparison I wanted to look, show you the current bonus that I’m being offered by Lyft. And as you can see, I can make $101 by completing 82 trips. Which is just over a dollar a trip.

With the Fair Car Rental program, I can make a bonus of $185 for just 70 trips. And that essentially covers the cost of the car for the week. The cost of the car is a $185, plus tax, so $201. So, for just 70 trips, I get paid $185, which is well over $2 extra per trip. So it’s a pretty sweet bonus.

If I do 120 trips, which is 50 more, I can make another $120. I can make a total bonus of $305. And that plays heavily into my ability to earn over $30 an hour, after you take out the price of the car and the insurance that comes with it.

Sharing my 8 pay statements while I had a Fair car

Just in the spirit of walking my talk, these are all eight of the pay statements for the period that I had the Fair Car Rental lease. You’ll notice I’m not really the power driver that I used to be. I have a low of 23 hours here, to a high of 51 hours in a week. I definitely always used to drive 50 hours a week or more, now or more in the 30 to 35 hours per week range, but that really shouldn’t matter as long as I at least got that minimum bonus, to cover my Fair Car Rental.

All right, so let’s get into the spreadsheet. What you see here, is that my dollar per hour gross was about $37 per hour. That includes my tips, my bonuses, everything that I could earn. But when we subtract the car payment, then my per hour earning drops to $31.

That tells us that basically I’m paying $6 an hour that I’m driving for the unlimited miles, and for the rideshare insurance. That’s in San Francisco and that’s an experienced driver, driving San Francisco and the Greater Bay area. That’s what’s possible with the Fair program. Mostly because you get that tremendous bonus, which is very easy to achieve at just 70 trips.

Key takeaways about driver earnings with Fair rentals

My key takeaways are, this is a program that’s available right now in California. I you’re in San Francisco or LA, definitely you might want to check it out. Second, it’s a great option if you want to try out driving. You don’t have to have a vehicle. This is something you can do on a week by week basis. Try it out, see how you like it, see how much money you can make, and then decide if you want to continue with it.

The third takeaway, is you don’t have to drive a Hyundai Elantra. There’s lots of car options that you can choose from. And they’re all priced exactly the same. A good buddy of mine, he came from Florida to California and he’s been driving a Hyundai Sonata, which he really loves. And there’s Toyotas, and all different cars you can choose from.

All right. Now, as promised, I’m going to share with you a little bit of footage of this beautiful Island of Santorini, Greece.

Isn’t that just absolutely gorgeous? So everybody, I want to say thank you for watching the video. I hope I got you a little clearer on what’s possible with the Fair Car Rental lease program, and the kind of money that you can make.

My earnings figures are from San Francisco, which admittedly is a great market. And I’m an experienced driver, I’ve been doing this for three and a half years. Your results will vary depending on how good you are of a driver, how long have you been doing it, and what market you’re driving in.

You all go out and have a great day, and be safe out there!
